One-fourth of the southeast area is home to the public 18-hole Wellshire Golf Course, a gem of a destination with a reservoir, mature cottonwood trees, and a cozy 1926-built clubhouse and restaurant. The neighborhood’s covenant requires exterior changes to be approved by an architectural committee and also prohibits adding new stories onto houses. This has kept “pop tops” and “scrapes” out of the area, preserving the neighborhood’s character.

Filled with single-family homes and ranch-style dwellings, you’ll also find parks and churches, including the Wellshire Presbyterian, a community-minded place of worship with a beautiful snow-white spire that’s easy to spot. The nearby Slavens School educates both elementary and middle school students and is one of the most highly rated schools in the Denver Public School system.
