  Biography:

Why real estate? Because I’m built for it. I’m a natural born businessman. I know that success in any industry revolves around understanding the needs and wants of potential and existing clients and then delivering.  And that’s what I do.

Throw in an articulated, aggressive approach to negotiating and an unwavering work ethic.  The firm belief that complacency is a plague and that consistent progression is a necessity.  The ideal that my goals as a broker are only attained when those of my clients are first realized and fulfilled.  And you start to get an idea of what type of agent I am.

My commitment to market expertise in Denver’s many neighborhoods is immeasurable.  Of course I want to know listing and sales prices, architecture, appraisal values, number of days on the market and taxes. The nuts and bolts.  But what about schools, parks, trail systems, and shopping?  What types of trees are found on specific streets?  Are the alleys paved or gravel?  Are the majority of businesses local or franchised? Any dog parks nearby?  These are all components of the neighborhoods of the homes bought and sold.  And I pledge to know the answers.

As for my life before real estate…

I was born in Chicago. My family moved to Colorado when I was a kid.  I went from playing baseball in suburban cul-de-sacs and catching lightning bugs under oak trees to being a member of 4-H and milking cows and building fences.  I got my first job at ten years old at a horse farm a mile down the dusty road.

I later moved to Fort Collins and graduated valedictorian of my high school with an emphasis in business.  I’ve always been very competitive.  While growing up I’d gotten seriously involved in various forms of cycling.  At the time I began college I was competing in downhill mountain bike racing.  By my senior year I had a factory sponsor and was traveling the national circuit, racing in California, Vermont, Quebec, Utah Pennsylvania and Colorado.

After graduating with a Marketing degree from Colorado State University, I moved to Philadelphia for a few years to work in the magazine industry.  I grew up writing, and started my first magazine back in the eighth grade.  So my experience on the east coast was a life-goal type of deal.  I was an editor.  An advertising sales agent.  And a freelance writer and photographer for an internationally-distributed magazine based out of Dorchester England.  I spent much of my time traveling, documenting the things I saw through text and film.

For the past three years I’ve been a semi-professional poker player.  I treat poker as a business.  And because of that, have found several parallels between poker, life, and the entrepreneurial spirit.  Money management, research, discipline, studying the competition, comprehending behavioral tendencies, calculating risk-reward ratios, and ultimately, maximizing return on investments.

So it is within the real estate industry that my natural abilities, precision instincts, competitive demeanor, work ethic, dedication, and of course…love for what I do, all come into fruition.

I grew up around my father’s contracting company.  I watched houses get built from foundation up.  I saw weathered homes brought back to life.  I witnessed the personalities of neighborhood blocks transform…reinvent themselves.  I’ve always appreciated the tangibility, the life, found with a house.  And always believed that there can be no other business transactions with as much substance, influence or importance as those found in the buying and selling of homes.

And that is why, at some point every day, you can always find me walking my dog Cole down a residential street, stopping and taking notice of the details, wondering of all the changes that have and will occur.
