The Highlands in Denver

The Highlands real estate area is located just minutes from downtown Denver, between 38th Avenue, 29th Avenue, Federal Boulevard and Sheridan. This hip, ethnically diverse area was founded in 1858 by Scottish, English and Welsh immigrants.

Distinguishing itself from other Denver neighborhoods, Highlands real estate was originally laid out in square blocks, as opposed to the more traditional rectangular shape. This allows homes in the area to face all adjacent streets, which creates a modern, yet communal feel.

About Highlands, Colorado

One of Denver's earliest streetcar suburbs, the West Highlands area had its own shopping district at 32nd and Lowell, which has been revitalized and is one of the most charming districts in the city. Here you'll find independent art galleries, bookstores, theaters, and coffeehouses tucked away quietly on residential street corners. Highland Square on 32nd has become a popular neighborhood gathering place, alive with music, shopping, food, and dancing.

Residents and visitors alike can find something to delight the senses in the Highlands neighborhood.
