LoDo Denver Real Estate

The area of Lower Downtown Denver, termed "LoDo" by locals, sits between Park Avenue West, Lawrence, the South Platte River and Speer Boulevard. Ten years ago the LoDo area was virtually empty. Since the opening of Coors Field, and a renewed interest in loft-style living, the LoDo real estate market has come alive with energy and excitement. For residents who like to leave the responsibilities of lawn maintenance and the burden of commuting behind, LoDo real estate has redefined urban living.

The LoDo neighborhood has been transformed unlike any other in Denver. Lower Downtown has over 100 restaurants, 30 art galleries, and a number of clubs and boutiques. From its early days as a frontier town, to a 1920s Market Street red-light district, and a warehouse center in the 1970s, LoDo now epitomizes the quintessential metropolitan lifestyle.

In 1863, a fire destroyed a number of wooden buildings in the area, which led to the characteristic brick architecture of 19th-century homes in LoDo. Buildings in this 20-block district are simply designed, and feature classic red brick walls and arched windows. Residential housing can be found in converted warehouses, renovated historic buildings, 1960s high rise condos, and new infill buildings. There are numerous lofts and luxury homes available in LoDo as well.

LoDo home prices range from $200,000 to $3,000,000.
