PorchLight Celebrates Continued Growth With 4th Top Workplaces Win

The Denver Post Names PorchLight Real Estate Group
to Top Workplaces as Company Promotes to Create More Robust Leadership Team

DENVER, CO :: April 17, 2016—For the fourth year in a row, PorchLight Real Estate Group has been awarded a Top Workplaces honor by The Denver Post. The Top Workplaces lists are based solely on the results of an employee feedback survey administered by WorkplaceDynamics, LLC, a leading research firm that specializes in organizational health and workplace improvement. Several aspects of workplace culture were measured, including Alignment, Execution, and Connection, just to name a few. PorchLight was recognized as #4 on the list of Midsize companies, with surveyed employees citing its continued dedication to a unique culture of collaboration and work-life balance.

“It’s such an honor to be recognized as a Top Workplace yet again,” said PorchLight co-founder and CEO Amy Bayer. “We created a model that really hadn’t been seen in the industry, so to be repeatedly honored for that model—and even to see other agencies taking cues from it in evolving their own company cultures—is truly rewarding.”

The designation is the latest in a long list for PorchLight. In 2016, it was named one of the ColoradoBiz Colorado Companies to Watch; founders Amy & Carol Bayer were the only Coloradans included on the prestigious Inman 101 list; and the agency was recognized on the Denver Business Journal’s top Women-Owned Businesses and Residential Real Estate Firm lists, and was #1 on the publication’s list of top LGBT-owned companies.

In order to plan for proactive and thoughtful growth, the company has made several changes to its corporate structure in recent months, promoting both staff and agents to leadership roles—allowing for scalability, while still focusing on providing superior service and building agents’ relationship-based businesses. Lane Walsh was promoted from VP to President, while Vice Presidents were put in place to oversee Internal Operations, Agent Operations, and Marketing—Cristin Barringer, Heather Heuer & Mike Smith, and Becca Cooper Leebove respectively. In addition, the company hired Rita Aughey as the new CFO. Rita comes to PorchLight via NRT, LLC, which operates companies under the Coldwell Banker, ERA, Sotheby’s International Realty, and The Corcoran Group brand names.

PorchLight has also created a new Agent Leader position to further support agents and create growth opportunities on the agent side. The first people promoted to these positions include long-time PorchLight agents Jennifer Zurzolo, Joy Castillo and Thaddeus Howells.
