My Real Estate Philosophy:
I find the most important aspect of buying or selling real estate is truly educating the client. The more the client understands and gains market knowledge through my expertise, the more rewarding and successful experience they will enjoy. That is why PorchLight’s “Market Education Day” is important for both buyers and sellers, where we view multiple properties in different neighborhoods. After that, the seller gains confidence in pricing their home and the buyers recognize a good “buy” when it becomes available. PorchLight Real Estate Group brings me a tremendous opportunity to utilize my skills and contacts to assist my clients, whether it is purchasing a new home or providing market knowledge to an investor/developer.
After graduating from Colorado State University in 1980 with a degree in Finance and Real Estate, I began my fifteen-year career in commercial real estate, focusing specifically on office leasing and sales in Denver, Colorado. In 1995 I formed Shannon Equities, Inc., which specialized in real estate sales and development, completing numerous condominium conversions along with multiple land development projects. After a brief, but successful, career with Dividend Capital Exchange selling a 1031 Real Estate Investment Trust product, I decided to focus entirely on my residential real estate business. I came to PorchLight in 2009 where I have enjoyed using my well-rounded expertise assisting hundreds of clients to fulfill their dreams. In 2015 and 2016 I lived in Todos Santos, BCS, Mexico working as the Director of Sales and Marketing on a 1,200 Acre project. However, missing the Colorado mountains, my wife and I decided to return to our roots where we grew up.
An avid skier and biker, I welcome the opportunity to get outdoors anytime, occasionally golfing or fishing for a change of pace. My wife Jacki and I currently live in Biscayne, Cory Merrill after downsizing from a large house in Bonnie Brae. After raising two children in Denver, they have since flown the coop, with one living in the Denver Highlands and the other in Washington, D.C.
