Welcome to Byers
A narrow and diverse neighborhood between Speer, Alameda, Downing, and Broadway, Byers was named for William N. Byers, founder of Denver’s first newspaper, the Rocky Mountain News. Residents of this neighborhood’s small apartment complexes, duplexes, and single-family dwellings not only enjoy close proximity to Washington Park, with its 161 acres of flora and fauna, but also relish the convenience of Speer, their quick link to both downtown and Cherry Creek. In addition to a small collection of restaurants along Alameda, residents of Byers are fortunate to be near the urban renewal of their western border, Broadway. Here, you’ll find the popular and independent Mayan Theatre and a growing string of hot spots, vintage boutiques, eateries, and art galleries. Several educational institutions sit comfortably among the residential neighborhoods, creating a simple walk to school for children.
