Welcome to Winston Downs
Nestled in the larger neighborhood of Washington Virginia Vale—between Alameda, Leetsdale, Quebec, and Monaco—lies the enclave of Winston Downs. Until the 1950s this area consisted of bucolic apple orchards and rolling pastures. Today, it’s known for its expansive ranch homes on large, manicured lots and friendly, tree-lined streets. With downtown a quick 15-minute drive northwest, and the lively City Park, Museum of Nature and Science, and a corridor of groceries, restaurants, and retail along nearby Colorado Boulevard, Winston Downs enjoys its peaceful and convenient position.
Embracing it’s agricultural past, the neighborhood even boasts its own community farm, Sprouts City Farm. It’s also home to the Denver Green School, a community-centric “Neighborhood Innovation School” that is part of the Denver Public School system and serves grades ECE through 8th. An established neighborhood with plenty to offer, families often choose to make their home in Winston Downs for many years. It’s truly a hidden gem in the middle of the city.
